# why's foxes > A paperback copy of why's (poignant) Guide to Ruby travels to Ruby events as a guest book. People write on its pages. Pages with something for the whole community are scanned, optimized and posted on ruby.social as @whysfoxes, and this site collects those posts with transcripts, the people who wrote them and the replies. - Each entry is one scanned page of the book, written on by one or more people. Page numbers are the printed page numbers of the paperback. Entries without a page number are mostly the title and front pages, and come first. - Not every page is posted. Only pages that are at least partly meant for the whole community are. A thanks for a talk, or a plug for a library or a product, stays in the book. - Every entry has a plain markdown version (the links below), with the community message, the post text, writers, chapter, event, notes and replies. The full transcript of the handwriting is only the alt text of the scan on the page. - People are the writers. Each has a markdown page listing their entries. - Everything is in one file at https://whysfoxes.github.io/whysfoxes_web/llms-full.txt if you would rather read it all at once. - Illustrations from [why's (poignant) Guide to Ruby](https://poignant.guide/) by why the lucky stiff, [CC BY-SA 2.5](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5/). Pages and scans from @whysfoxes@ruby.social. The handwriting belongs to the people who wrote it. ## Entries - [An untagged page by Yukihiro Matz Matsumoto, 2025-06-15](https://whysfoxes.github.io/whysfoxes_web/entries/x-114689091111007473.md): He started a movement.
